President Joe Biden is set to sign a "Made in America" executive order Monday, fulfilling a long-time campaign promise to increase the amount of federal spending that goes to American companies. The federal government spends about $600 billion on contracting per year, and there are already rules in place governing how taxpayer dollars can be spent, how much foreign products can be purchased, and how many foreign components can be brought to the U.S. and assembled here. The advice was given in 2017 in response to a post by a Facebook friend who described a "tumultuous" breakup with her child's father and inquired about the legality of carrying a gun in her car, according to court documents filed in the Supreme Court of Tennessee on Friday. Attorney Winston Bradshaw Sitton reportedly wrote that if the woman wanted to kill her ex-boyfriend, she should "lure" him into her home and "claim" he broke in with intent to do her harm and she feared for her life, according to the Tennessee Supreme Court judgment.
Five people are dead following a mass shooting in Indianapolis Sunday morning, police said. One of the people killed was pregnant – the woman's unborn child was also killed. A boy, who suffered a gunshot wound, was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

An independent investigation is underway after a Tacoma Police Department officer struck at least one pedestrian with his patrol car while trying to clear a crowded scene. The body of a woman who went missing for 10 days after she vanished when her car was suddenly swept away in a mudslide has been discovered under 15 feet of mud, rock and logs. The incident occurred in the early hours of Jan. 13 at approximately 1:15 a.m. when Jennifer Moore was driving in Dodson, Oregon, when she was hit by a landslide and swept off the road, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the operation to find Moore, who was a 50-year-old registered nurse from Warrendale, Oregon, was incredibly treacherous and they had to use heavy machinery – including front loaders and dump trucks – to remove debris just to reach the location where they thought Moore could be.

Women are worried that they or someone in their family will get sick from the new novel coronavirus, known officially as COVID-19. Tens of thousands of people have joined protests across dozens of cities in Russia, demanding the release of Alexey Navalny, the Kremlin critic who was jailed last week after he returned to the country for the first time since recovering from a poisoning with a nerve agent.
