A Peloton instructor is opening up for the first time about her battle with breast cancer, revealing she got a lifesaving second opinion after discovering a lump on her breast. Leanne Hainsby, a 35-year-old cycling instructor for the fitness company, revealed on Instagram that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last August. Hainsby, who is based in London, said that in the past six months since her diagnosis, she has undergone surgery as well as 12 weeks of chemotherapy.
A 4-year-old dog named Lilo has reunited with her owner this week after a Tennessee animal center shared a post about the German shepherd-Great Pyrenees mix on Facebook. The nonprofit animal center also included a couple of photos with the post, including one of Lilo, who didn't have a microchip or identification tag, and another of a handwritten note that had been reportedly attached to Lilo's collar. Five former Memphis police officers were charged with murder Thursday in the death of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died three days after a traffic stop. Body camera footage of the incident, which has already been viewed by Nichols’ family and their attorneys, has been described as “heinous,” “violent” and “appalling.” ABC News’ Linsey Davis spoke with Nichols family attorney Ben Crump, who said the Nichols family is “relieved” the officers will be held accountable.

Students Demand Action, a grassroots network of Everytown for Gun Safety, is launching a campaign calling on colleges and universities across the country to divest from the gun industry. Students at nearly 30 colleges and universities around the country have joined the campaign, called #KillerBusiness, and are asking their colleges and universities to cut economic ties with the gun industry until these companies take accountability for their actions. Autism is on the rise among young children, according to a new study. The study, published Thursday in the journal Pediatrics, found that autism rates tripled over the last 16 years. Researchers also noted the greatest increases in diagnoses were amongst affluent children, concluding that children in underserved communities are not getting the same access to medical resources.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Friday it will ease blood donation restrictions on gay and bisexual men, including allowing those in monogamous relationships to donate. The policy change, which was revealed in new draft guidance, comes after years of urging by public health experts, blood banks and LGBTQ advocacy groups. The new policy would address future blood shortages and remove the stigma around gay men, experts say.
The National Archives has asked the offices of recent former presidents and vice presidents to review personal documents for any outstanding classified material or presidential records that have not been properly returned to the U.S. government, according to a letter obtained Thursday by ABC News. The communication specifically refers to any material thought to be personal that might "inadvertently" contain presidential records, adding that "the responsibility to comply with the [Presidential Records Act] does not diminish after the end of an administration."
