"The Punisher" is a spin-off of the "Daredevil" series and stars Jon Bernthal as violent vigilante Frank Castle.

After careful consideration, Netflix and Marvel have decided it wouldn't be appropriate for Marvel’s 'The Punisher' to participate in New York Comic Con," read a statement from Netflix and Marvel. "Our thoughts continue to be with the victims and those affected by this tragedy."
A trailer or "The Punisher" debuted over the summer, and depicted acts of gun violence. The decision to cancel the panel comes just a few days after 58 people were killed by a heavily armed gunman at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas. An estimated 489 people were injured in the attack.
