Former President Donald Trump has praised South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, saying he "likes her a lot" and that she's gone through "rough" days amid controversy of her newly released book. Noem is among Trump's close allies whose name has come up as Trump's potential vice presidential hopefuls. Noem has been harshly criticized for describing how she shot and killed her 14-month-old dog "Cricket" and was forced to admit what she called "errors" in her book including claiming she once met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Former President Donald Trump is seeking to fast-track a challenge to the constitutionality of the limited gag order imposed on him by the judge overseeing his criminal hush money trial in New York. Trump's defense team on Wednesday asked an intermediate appeals court to issue a ruling on an expedited basis, or, alternatively, to grant them permission to appeal directly to the state's highest court, the Court of Appeals. The Appellate Division previously rejected Trump's attempt to pause the trial while he fights the limited gag order, which prohibits Trump from making statements about witnesses, jurors, attorneys, and others associated with the hush money case.
Cynthia Erivo is opening up about her "special" performance with Ariana Grande at the Met Gala on Monday night. In a sweet Instagram post she shared Wednesday, Erivo explained how grateful she was when Grande asked her to take the stage with her and how much she loves her "Wicked" co-star. Brooke Nelson said she was over 200 pounds and struggling to lose weight when she decided to take part in a clinical trial of a new, minimally-invasive weight loss procedure. The procedure Nelson underwent is called endoscopic ablation, which the lead author of the clinical trial, Dr. Christopher McGowan, says targets ghrelin, the so-called "hunger hormone." According to McGowan, an obesity medicine, internal medicine, and gastroenterology specialist, the procedure involves inserting a camera into the patient's stomach while fluids are administered to protect the underlying stomach tissue.
There have been more than 40 reported or confirmed tornadoes across nearly a dozen states since Monday, as the threat continues Wednesday. There were at least 21 confirmed tornadoes on Monday across six states -- Tennessee, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska. Tuesday saw another 20 reported tornadoes across five states -- Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia and Arkansas -- with more surveys expected to take place later Wednesday.
The suspect accused of killing 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley has been formally indicted on murder and other offenses in connection with the brutal slaying on the University of Georgia campus. A grand jury indicted Jose Ibarra, 26, with malice murder and felony murder in connection with the death of Riley, who was found dead in a wooded area on the Athens campus on Feb. 22 after she didn't return from a run. The indictment was returned on Tuesday and alleges that Ibarra killed the Augusta University student by "inflicting blunt force trauma to her head and by asphyxiating her" and seriously disfigured her head by striking her "multiple times" with a rock.

According to a new study published Monday in the journal JAMA Network Open, researchers from Harvard School of Public Health followed the dietary decisions of 92,383 health care professionals over 28 years and found that those who incorporated more olive oil of any kind into their diet lowered their probability of dying from dementia.
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is not seeing his father King Charles III while he is in London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, ABC News has confirmed. A spokesperson for the duke told ABC News on Tuesday that Charles' schedule does not allow time for him to see his younger son, who now lives in the United States. "It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty's full programme," the spokesperson said of a meeting between Harry and Charles.
The Biden administration opted to pause a shipment of some 3,500 bombs to Israel last week because of concerns the weapons could be used in Rafah where more than one million civilians are sheltering "with nowhere else to go," a senior administration official told ABC News. Other weapon transfers from the U.S. to Israel -- including the sale of Joint Direct Attack Munition, or JDAM kits -- are being closely scrutinized as part of a larger review of U.S. military aid to Israel that began last April, the official said. The decision to pause the shipment and consider slow-walking others is a major shift in policy for the Biden administration and the first known case of the U.S. denying its close ally military aid since the Israel-Hamas war began.

A mom is sharing a warning for other parents after her daughter's arm was caught in an elevator last year. Garatziotis said her daughter Zoe, then 5, had her hand on the elevator door when the elevator they were traveling in started opening up on the seventh floor. "Me and my friend Jen grabbed the elevator [door] so it wouldn't pull her in more and my friend Nicole was with her down there trying to figure out how to get her arm out," Garatziotis told New York ABC station WABC.

Emma Heming Willis is opening up about how sharing her husband Bruce Willis' frontotemporal dementia or FTD diagnosis in 2023 impacted her. "I could breathe, you know, I could really exhale and sort of just feel this weight sort of lift from my shoulders but everything changed for the better once we were able to disclose his diagnosis," Heming Willis said in a video shared Tuesday by The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration at their 2024 Education Conference. "I was able to see the support that I so desperately needed for my husband, for our whole family," the 45-year-old added.
President Joe Biden is set to announce on Wednesday a $3 billion investment by tech giant Microsoft to build an artificial intelligence data center in southeast Wisconsin. The sprawling facility will be located on the same plot of land where, in 2018, former President Donald Trump announced a multi-billion dollar investment by Taiwanese company Foxconn that largely failed to materialize. The project sits at the convergence of several key Biden administration goals: upgrading U.S. infrastructure, rejuvenating domestic manufacturing and stewarding the responsible development of AI.

An appeals court in Georgia has agreed to take up former President Donald Trump's appeal of the Fani Willis disqualification ruling that ultimately allowed her to remain on the Georgia election interference case -- a move that could significantly delay the case against the former president. The Georgia Court of Appeals, in a one-page order, said they would grant the request to review the ruling from Judge Scott McAfee. Trump and his codefendants now have 10 days to file the appeal.

More than a year after her friends and former roommates were killed in an off-campus house in Idaho, Ashlin Couch said she wished she could have said a proper goodbye. Couch had lived until May 2022 in the sixth bedroom in an off-campus house on King Road in Moscow, Idaho. Four University of Idaho students were killed in the house months later, in November 2022.
