When photographer Amiee Berry's friend came to her asking for a photo shoot for her 30th birthday, the two women put their heads together to come up with an original idea.
Then they put a crown on one of those heads and added a cake, a tutu and an "about me" board.
The friends decided to turn the cake-smash photo shoot -- practically a right of passage on a baby's first birthday -- on its head.
"Why should kids have all the fun?" Berry asked.
The Forney, Texas mom of two told ABC News that her friend Jackie Slinkard -- also a mom of two young children -- wanted to put a fun, positive spin on her upcoming 30th birthday. The only obvious difference between adult cake smash photos and a baby session, it seems, is the age of the model. Oh, and the bottle of bubbly.
"It's a new milestone that deserves to be celebrated," Berry said. "Often turning 30 has a negative connotation. But Jackie wanted to depict this new phase of her life."
The photos, Berry said, have been viewed more than two million times and shared thousands since she posted them to Facebook on Monday. Berry said the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
