NASA has set a new launch date for its first astronaut-crewed flight into space on Boeing's Starliner after scrubbing Saturday afternoon's launch just minutes before it was due to begin. On Sunday, the agency announced that NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test Mission teams are preparing to support a launch at 10:52 a.m. ET on Wednesday, June 5, from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. United Launch Alliance, which manufactures and operates the rockets that launch the spacecraft into orbit, worked overnight and on Sunday to assess the ground support equipment at the launch pad that encountered issues during the countdown and scrubbed the June 1 launch attempt.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Akron Police.
Two firefighters were injured and more than 100 homes were evacuated as a wind-whipped wildfire spread Sunday to 14,000 acres of mostly dry grassland in Northern California, officials said. The Corral Fire is burning in San Joaquin County, close to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which is about 50 miles outside San Francisco, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. "Areas west of the California Aqueduct, south of Corral Hollow Creek, west to Alameda County and south to Stanislaus County should leave now," San Joaquin emergency officials said late Saturday.
Federal prosecutors pursuing a conviction of President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden on three felony gun charges have characterized their upcoming trial as "a simple case" -- and the facts presented in charging documents certainly appear to support that claim. According to special counsel David Weiss' office, in October of 2018, Hunter Biden knowingly lied on a federal form about his drug use in order to procure a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver -- conduct that, at face value, would constitute a federal crime. At a recent pretrial hearing, an attorney for Biden suggested the firearm form at the heart of the case was "much more complicated than [the] special counsel indicates it is."
White House national security communications adviser John Kirby said the United States expects that if Hamas agrees to a recent three-phase proposal to end fighting in Gaza, Israel "would say yes." "It is an Israeli proposal, one that they arrived at after intense diplomacy with their own national security team and over at the State Department," Kirby told "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.
Will Scharf, a member of Donald Trump's legal team, said Sunday that the former president will appeal his conviction on 34 felony counts in New York but will comply with a pre-sentencing investigation in the meantime. Trump's conviction, centered around allegations he covered up a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election, will be the subject of an investigation from the Probation Department, which will include interviewing Trump. A report following the inquiry's conclusion will provide Judge Juan Merchan with a sentencing recommendation, experts have told ABC News.
A plurality of Americans, 50%, think former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict on all 34 counts in his hush money trial was correct, a new ABC News/Ipsos poll finds, and almost as many, 49%, think he should end his 2024 presidential campaign over the result. Trump was found guilty of 34 counts on Thursday in his trial related to falsifying business records regarding a payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election in order to keep her quiet about their alleged affair. Forty-seven percent of Americans said they think the charges against Trump in this case were politically motivated, while 38% say they were not.
A state of emergency was declared in Atlanta on Saturday evening following two water main breaks, Mayor Andre Dickens announced at a press conference. The massive disruption was reported Friday evening, resulting in a boil water advisory from the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management. "I know it has been a tough and frustrating day for many of you," Dickens said.
For the first time in United States history, a former -- and quite possibly future -- president is now officially a convicted felon. The guilty verdict in Donald Trump's hush money trial has opened a huge can of worms regarding what this could mean for him legally. Like any other American found guilty of a crime, Trump is likely to face new restrictions and lose a number of rights due to his newfound felon status.
An Idaho jury sentenced Chad Daybell, the man who was convicted this week for the 2019 murders of his first wife and second wife's two children, to death. Lindsey Blake, the Fremont County, Idaho prosecutor, told reporters she was hopeful the verdict would allow the victims' families and friends a chance to heal. The jury found Daybell guilty on all counts Thursday in what prosecutors said was a plot to pursue "money, power and sex."
Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, revealed Friday evening that it was the victim of a cyber attack that compromised user data. The company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it discovered an "unauthorized activity within a third-party cloud database," on May 20 and promptly launched an investigation.
Republicans have long proclaimed themselves the party of "law and order." House Speaker Mike Johnson called it "a shameful day in American history" and claimed the trial was a "political" exercise, not a legal one. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the other leading Republican on Capitol Hill, asserted the charges levied against Trump "never should have been brought in the first place."
Physicians are calling for primary care doctors to ask patients about loneliness and social isolation at routine health checks and when managing chronic diseases as emerging research suggests it could be just as important as checking blood pressure, heart health and lifestyle factors for health outcomes. Published in the Annals of Family Medicine, the new guidance highlights several areas to better address social isolation and loneliness in the healthcare system through screening, chronic disease management, policies and partnerships with community resources in an effort to recognize this as a medical issue.
Former President Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records on Thursday, but that will not stop him from being able to run for election in November -- and the case is not over yet. Before he can file an appeal of the conviction, he needs to be sentenced by Judge Juan Merchan, according to Fordham University Law Professor Cheryl Bader. Before sentencing, the Probation Department will be charged with preparing a pre-sentence investigation, or a probation report, for Merchan, which will include interviewing Trump.
In a White House address, President Joe Biden on Friday said Israel's offensive in Gaza had degraded Hamas to the point that it could no longer carry out another sweeping terror attack on Israel and declared it was time to set a course for enduring peace by reaching a cease-fire deal. "It's time for this war to end, for the day after to begin," Biden said, before outlining the contours of a three-phase plan he said was a "comprehensive new proposal" crafted by Israel.
President Joe Biden got a chance to get under the helmet with this year's Super Bowl champs as he welcomed the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House on Friday. The visit marked the second year in a row that the team met with Biden to celebrate their win and presented the president with his own red and white helmet. Biden wore the helmet as he commended their 2023 season, where they went 11-6, and their victory against the San Francisco 49ers in a 25–22 overtime win at Super Bowl LVIII.
Twenty-three years ago, F-16 fighter pilot Marc Sasseville was sent on a mission that he thought could be his last. Sasseville received orders on Sept. 11, 2001 to prevent another hijacked airliner headed for Washington from reaching its target. In an ABC News exclusive interview, Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz spoke with Sasseville about the heroic operation he took on alongside fellow F-16 pilot Heather Penney, who was just 26 years old at the time.
