An investigation is underway after a student at Jackson State University in Mississippi was found dead on campus. The victim had been shot, and his body was discovered inside a Dodge Charger in a campus parking Friday morning, the Hinds County coroner told ABC Jackson affiliate WAPT. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said Randall Smith, 20, has been arrested in connection with the death of the victim, 22-year-old Flynn Brown.
An elderly Home Depot employee who was shoved to the ground by a man allegedly fleeing the store with stolen merchandise has died weeks after the assault, police said. The disturbing incident, which occurred on Oct. 18 at a Home Depot in Hillsborough, North Carolina, was caught on the store's surveillance footage. The victim died on Wednesday due to complications from injuries he sustained in the assault, the Hillsborough Police Department said.
Four people, including two juveniles, were found dead in a Kentucky home in an apparent murder-suicide, police said. Louisville officers responded around 8:45 a.m. local time Saturday to a call of a shooting "with multiple victims" at the home on the 4500 block of East Pages Lane, the Louisville Police Department said.

A FedEx driver confessed to abducting and killing 7-year-old Athena Strand after he delivered a package to her family's home, Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin said at a press conference Friday night. Digital evidence and interviews lead investigators to believe that Strand died within an hour of her abduction, according to Akin. The driver, 31-year-old Taner Lynn Horner, is in jail and is being charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping.
A suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Migos rapper Takeoff, Houston police said Friday. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was arrested Thursday evening in Houston and "charged with the murder of Takeoff," Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said during a press briefing. Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed in downtown Houston around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 1, police said.

An American passenger on an Antarctic cruise died and four other guests were injured after their Viking ship was struck by a "rogue wave," officials said. The incident happened on Tuesday around 10:40 p.m. local time while the Viking Polaris ship was sailing toward Ushuaia, Argentina, Viking said. The passenger killed was a U.S. citizen, a State Department spokesperson confirmed to ABC News Friday.

Manhattan prosecutors concluded their criminal case against the Trump Organization Friday by challenging attempts by the defense to distance former President Donald Trump from his namesake company's alleged tax fraud. Two entities of the Trump Organization -- the Trump Corporation and the Trump Payroll Corporation -- are on trial for paying the personal expenses of some executives without reporting them as income and for compensating them as independent contractors instead of full-time employees. Prosecutors believe the Trump Organization is culpable because the conduct of CFO Allen Weisselberg benefitted the company and because his position as CFO means he was entrusted to act on the company's behalf.
A California father is speaking out after one of his twin boys was treated for possible fentanyl exposure after playing at a popular San Francisco park. Ivan Matkovic, 35, told "Good Morning America" the ordeal has been a shock to his family and to his sons' nanny, who was watching the 10-month-old boys on Tuesday afternoon when the incident unfolded. Matkovic said he was working from home that day so the family's nanny was caring for the boys and took the children outside for an afternoon walk to a local park in their Marina District neighborhood.

A Georgia man was arrested for allegedly firing a gun through his front door at a teenager volunteering for Sen. Raphael Warnock's campaign, striking the boy in the leg, police said. The incident occurred Thursday around 5:30 p.m. in Savannah, while the 15-year-old was campaigning for Warnock's upcoming runoff election, police said.
