Two people are dead and 17 others are injured after a bus overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike, according to state police. The fatal accident took place Tuesday around 6:53 p.m. on the southbound Turnpike just before the Grover Cleveland Service Area, when a double-decker bus overturned and came to a stop on the entrance ramp to the service area, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Lawrence Peele told reporters Tuesday night. Fourteen passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the driver and two passengers were seriously injured and four passengers sustained no injuries, police said.

A new bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives three months after a nursing mom had ice packs intended to keep breast milk cold confiscated by airport security. The proposed legislation would amend the Bottles and Breastfeeding Equipment Screening Enhancement (BABES) Act to protect parents and caregivers by requiring the Transportation Security Administration to "clarify and regularly update guidance on handling breast milk, baby formula, and other related nutrition products" and the federal agency would have to develop and update the guidelines with direction from maternal health groups, according to a press release from California Rep. Katie Porter, who is sponsoring the bill.

Forty years after a 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death in Northern California, DNA has led to the arrest of her suspected killer, prosecutors announced. Karen Stitt was last seen on the night of Sept. 2, 1982, heading toward a Sunnyvale bus stop after spending time with her boyfriend, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office said. The next morning, her naked body was found about 100 yards from the bus stop, according to prosecutors.
