Man arrested after allegedly attempting to shoot pastor during sermon
A church service in Pennsylvania came to a terrifying halt on Sunday when authorities say a man pulled a gun on the pastor and allegedly attempted to shoot him during his sermon. The suspected gunman, who police identified as 26-year-old Bernard Junior Polite, entered the church and allegedly attempted to shoot the pastor, Glenn Germany, as he was delivering his sermon on a live stream, according to police.

More than 20 million people remain under a flood watch in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas on Sunday. A 5-year-old boy was found dead in Johnson County, Texas, on Sunday amid severe flooding, according to officials. Abducted infant and suspect who allegedly killed 2 women, injured child remain missing: Police
An urgent search remains underway Sunday in Clovis, New Mexico, after police say a 10-month-old baby was abducted, two women were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds -- including the child's mother -- and the mother's 5-year-old child was injured after sustaining a gunshot on the scene. Police issued an Amber Alert for the baby, Eleia Maria Torres, on Friday, which is still active as of Sunday morning. Torres has brown eyes and brown hair, is 28 inches tall and weighs 23 pounds, according to officials.

Mayor Eric Adams defends NYPD response to campus protests
New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Sunday defended the police crackdown on campus protests there, which have become the epicenter of demonstrations around the country against the Israel-Hamas war. "We want to ensure we protect democracy and the right to protest," Adams told ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl, "but we have an obligation that when those protests reach the point of violence ... we have to ensure that we use a minimum amount of force to terminate what is perceived to be a threat not only by our intelligence, but also the school and college officials." Adams said that the large-scale police intervention seen so far in the city, most notably at Columbia University, resulted from communication between the police and school officials.

Missing zebra captured after 6 days on the run in Washington state
A missing zebra that was on the run for nearly a week after escaping a trailer in Washington state was corralled this weekend, officials announced Saturday. The female mare, named Shug, was one of four zebras that escaped from a trailer near North Bend, Washington -- approximately 30 miles east of Seattle -- on April 28, according to a press release from Regional Animal Services of King County.
