Authorities say the suspects fled the scene, and Wactor was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the age of 37.

A company that posted a discriminatory job advertisement seeking only white candidates has been fined by the federal government and come to separate agreements with the U.S. Department of Justice and Department of Labor as punishment, according to officials. Arthur Grand Technologies, an information technology services firm based in Virginia posted a discriminatory job advertisement in March 2023 that restricted eligible candidates to “only US Born Citizens [white] who are local within 60 miles from Dallas, TX [Don’t share with candidates],” according to a statement from the United States Department of Justice released on Thursday. “An investigation by OFCCP (Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs) determined that, in April 2023, Arthur Grand Technologies advertised an opening for a business analyst position with its sales and insurance claims team in Dallas on a public online hiring website,” the Department of Justice said in their statement.

Police in Louisiana said Monday they caught two of the four inmates who escaped from jail over the weekend, unbeknownst to the guards who were supposed to be watching them. Omarion Hookfin, 19; Avery Guidry, 19; Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, and Travon Johnson, 21, who were all incarcerated at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail, escaped through a weak portion of the jail's chain-linked fence on Saturday and Sunday, Chief Jimmy Travis of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office told reporters during a news conference Monday. The jail's officials did not know about the breakouts until they received a phone call Sunday afternoon from a family member of one of the escapees, Travis said.

Diagnoses of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have surged in the United States over the last several years, according to a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The study, which examined data from more than 45,000 parent responses to the 2022 National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH), found that in 2022, 7 million children between ages 3 and 17 had previously been diagnosed with ADHD, an increase of 1 million from 2016. This equates to about 1 in 9 U.S. children being diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their lives.
