Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is seeking an outside prosecutor to consider charges against a group of prominent individuals for having allegedly engaged in a "conspiracy" to unlawfully gain access to voting machines used in the 2020 presidential election. Among the accused is Nessel's presumptive Republican challenger, Matt DePerno, whom Nessel claims was "one of the prime instigators" but who adamantly denies wrongdoing. In February, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson requested the attorney general's office and the state police investigate reports of an "unnamed third party" gaining access to tabulation machines and data drives.
Multiple sources confirm to ABC News that former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate was raided by FBI agents on Monday. The former president put out a statement Monday evening saying federal investigators were there and that they had even gotten into his safe. Trump was not there at the time of the search.
Boston Mayor Michelle Wu extended the city's heat emergency through Tuesday as Bostonians deal with a marathon of at least 95-degree days. "With the weather forecast now showing the high temperatures and humidity lasting through Tuesday, we're extending the heat emergency to make sure all of our Boston residents and families are safe," Wu said in a statement. Boston set a new record on Monday, reaching 98 degrees, surpassing a previous high of 96 degrees from 1983, the National Weather Service tweeted.
The fourth Muslim man killed in a possible string of murders in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been identified as a 25-year-old native of Pakistan, according to police. Naeem Hussain was found dead from a gunshot wound on Friday near Truman Street and Grand Avenue in Albuquerque's Highland Business neighborhood, according to the Albuquerque Police Department. Police are investigating whether the killing is connected to the shooting death of Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, 27, on Aug. 1, as well as the murder of Aftab Hussein, 41, on July 26 -- both of whom are also from Pakistan.

Rudy Giuliani, the attorney for former President Donald Trump, is seeking to delay his court-ordered testimony before a Georgia grand jury probing efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state, according to new court filings. Giuliani, who helped lead Trump's legal fight as he unsuccessfully sought to overturn the results of the election nationwide, was set to appear before a Fulton County grand jury on Tuesday, according to a court order.
John Travolta is mourning the loss of his "Grease" co-star Olivia Newton-John, who died Monday at the age of 73. The two starred in the iconic 1978 movie musical as Sandy and Danny, cementing themselves as one of Hollywood's most beloved onscreen couples. "We will see you down the road and we will all be together again," Travolta, 68, continued.
Olivia Newton-John, who gained worldwide acclaim for her starring role in "Grease," died Monday morning at age 73, according to her family. "Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends," her family wrote in a statement shared on social media. "Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer," the statement continued.
The father and son convicted of federal hate crimes in the death of Ahmaud Arbery were sentenced Monday to life in prison. Gregory McMichael, 66, chased 25-year-old Arbery on Feb. 23, 2020, with his son, Travis McMichael, 36, who fired the fatal shot. The McMichaels' neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan, 52, who joined the chase and recorded video and was also convicted of federal hate crimes, was sentenced Monday to 35 years.
Brianna Grier, the Georgia woman who died after falling out of a police car last month, died from a severe blunt force injury to the head, according to the preliminary findings of an independent autopsy ordered by her family. "In this case, the cause of death is consistent with the severe blunt force injury that occurred inside of the head," Dr. Allecia Wilson, a pathologist and the director of autopsy and forensic services at the University of Michigan, said at a press conference Monday to announce the findings. Grier's medical records from Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta showed she had two fractures, hemorrhaging and a subdural hematoma after falling out of a moving police car while handcuffed on July 15, according to Wilson.
Vince Gill and Amy Grant's daughter Corrina Grant Gill delivered a special performance in honor of her mom, who is currently recovering from a recent bike accident. The 21-year-old joined her dad on stage Friday evening at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, to sing a cover of "When My Amy Prays," a song Gill wrote for Grant, which is included on the country singer's 2019 album "Okie." Gill was performing the third night of a four-night residency at the venue, as part of its 130th anniversary celebration.
Cambodian artifacts will return to their home country after being smuggled and sold to U.S. collectors and institutions. The 10th Century Khmer sandstone statue "Skanda on a Peacock" was among the Cambodian antiquities looted from Angkor Wat, Koh Ker and other archeological sites during Cambodia’s periods of civil war and civil unrest that stretched from the 1960s to the 1990s. "Skanda on a Peacock" is largely viewed as a masterpiece of artistic achievement and an important part of the Cambodian cultural heritage, according to experts.

The same month the U.S. Supreme Court issued its landmark ruling overturning Roe v. Wade, a couple in Kansas, thousands of miles away from Washington, D.C., faced their own abortion decision. The O'Briens said doctors told them the fetus had Xeroderma pigmentosum group D (XPD) and Trichothiodystrophy (TTD), two rare and severe genetic conditions that they said can cause significant disability and a shortened life span.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has deployed a federal team to New York to investigate the case of polio detected in Rockland County. It's unclear how long the CDC will remain in the county or if the findings will be released to the public. "CDC continues to collaborate with the New York State Department of Health to investigate a recent case of paralytic polio in an unvaccinated individual from Rockland County," the federal health agency said in a statement to ABC News.
Federal prosecutors have moved to seize the $90 million Airbus A319 used as a private jet by a Russian businessman and parliamentarian known as the "richest man in the Duma." After Russia invaded Ukraine, the U.S. issued further sanctions against Skoch and his assets for "support[ing] the Kremlin's efforts to violate Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
A British museum will return 72 artifacts to the Nigerian government that were forcibly taken over a hundred years ago. The Horniman Museum and Gardens agreed to hand over the artifacts, including several sculptures known as Benin bronzes, after receiving a request for the artifacts from the Nigerian government. The pieces were looted from Benin City in southern Nigeria during a British military invasion in 1897, according to a statement from the museum's board of trustees.
