Over the weekend, Harrison Ford made a surprise appearance at the 40th Anniversary Panel at Star Wars Celebration, which had fans freaking out. In addition to appearing on the panel, the beloved Star Wars actor stuck around for the day and joined George Lucas in an interview with The Star Wars Show.

Host Anthony Carboni reminisced with Ford about his unexpected rise to stardom, as the actor was famously a carpenter before being discovered and cast in Star Wars. Carboni also asked Ford if he’s looking forward to watching the upcoming young Han Solo film as a fan and, to our horror, Ford responded”

“Not Really.”

Ummm, what now?

For everyone panicking at home, Ford was just kidding. He did reveal that it would be weird watching someone else play Han Solo.

“Of course, I’ll be watching it as a fan but it’ll be weird,” he continued. “It’ll be a little weird.”

We can imagine that it would feel weird for Ford to watch someone else be Han Solo, as he did portray the iconic character in four Star Wars films. However, Ford told Carboni and Lucas that he met Alden Ehrenreich, who is playing young Han Solo and had nothing but praise for the actor.

“You know, I’ve met the fellow who’s going to play the younger Han Solo. [He’s a] wonderful guy, very sweet and a very good actor. I’m delighted at the choice.”

Ehrenreich must be breathing a *huge* sigh of relief right now. We can’t imagine he’d want to play the rebellious smuggler without the seal of approval from Ford.

Check out the charming interview below:

Despite his gruff demeanor, we love how much Ford continues to care about the Star Wars franchise. We know it may be a long shot but we really hope he appears in one form or another in Episode VIII!
