It's getting hot in here! The “GMA 5-Alarm Firefighters Challenge” is heating up with firefighters from across the country making creative and high-energy lip-dub videos to "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities.
Three teams of firefighters will face off live on “Good Morning America” next week to compete for a $10,000 prize for their fire department.
Based on America’s votes so far, the McAllen Fire Department from McAllen, Texas, and the Tacoma Fire and Rescue from Tacoma, Washington, scored the first two spots. There’s still one spot up for grabs in the final three and it’s up to you to vote!

Meet the Gulf Shores Fire Rescue
Location: Gulf Shores, Alabama
Members of the fire department showcase their charisma with some fun dance moves in the lip-synch video, and also spotlight their city, which hosts visitors to the Gulf of Mexico. The city’s tourism provides unique challenges for the fire department, they told “GMA.”
“The types of calls range from routine medical calls, to water rescue calls ... to disaster response in the event of a hurricane, or other large-scale event,” they wrote to “GMA.” “GSFR provides excellent customer service and is proud of what they are able to accomplish with the sometimes limited amount of resources available to them during peak times.”
Since funding has become scarce, the department says they would use the $10,000 prize money for necessary training for emergency responders.
Meet the Southern Manatee Fire Rescue
Location: Sarasota, Florida
Seventy-five full-time firefighters at ten different stations make up the Southern Manatee Fire Rescue. And what this department lacks in size, they say they make up for in “dedication and commitment.”
“Whenever our department is faced with adversity, we have always been able to rebuild the trust of our community by doing what we do best which is serving the members of our fire district with professionalism and integrity,” they wrote in their essay to “GMA.”
And they don’t mind dancing for a cause! The group’s video features a highly-choreographed dance routine, and a fun paddle-boarding scene.
If they win the $10,000, they plan to use the prize for fire safety training programs and natural disaster preparedness.
