Cyber intelligence analysts at Google have identified what is known as an "advance persistent threat" (APT), or a group of bad actors who have been connected to potentially criminal activity online. Designated as "APT43" in a new report from Google Cloud's cyber intelligence arm Mandiant, the group is believed to be supporting -- and possibility affiliated with -- North Korea's primary foreign intelligence service through espionage targeted at foreign government agencies, private companies and educational institutions around the world.

On Monday morning, according to officials, three children and three staff members were shot and killed at the Covenant School, a private Christian school for students in preschool through sixth grade, in Nashville, Tennessee. The deadly shooting is the 131st mass shooting to have taken place so far this year in the U.S., according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more victims are shot or killed, not including the shooter.
A 13-year-old student stabbed four teachers and two other students at a school in São Paulo, Brazil, on Monday, officials said. Elisabete Tenreiro, 71, one of the teachers injured in the attack at Thomazia Montoro public school, later died from a heart attack at University Hospital of São Paulo, officials told ABC News. A nearby chemical spill in Philadelphia has local residents on high alert, after officials initially recommended that residents use bottled water "out of an abundance of caution." CVS Health Corp announced Monday it would be closing its acquisition of home health care services company Signify Health. The deal, which was originally agreed upon in September 2022, allows retail pharmacy chain to acquire Signify for $30.50 per share for a total value of approximately $8 billion. Signify Health has thousands of employees including physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinicians which provide a "holistic suite of clinical, social, and behavioral services to address an individual's healthcare needs and prevent adverse events that drive excess cost, all while shifting services towards the home," the company said in a press release.
