The surprise, complete with a colorful poster and a stuffed teddy bear, was caught on camera by preschool teacher Carissa Fisher's mother, who accompanied her to surprise 5-year-old Ezra, his mom Karen Toczek, and his family at their Alden, New York, home on May 25. Toczek told "Good Morning America" she and Ezra had "no idea" Fisher had applied to be a donor for the 5-year-old, who has had liver damage and scarring for most of his young life. Fisher, who met Ezra back in 2022 as his preschool teacher, said she saw Toczek's post on Facebook in March about Ezra needing a liver transplant and immediately knew she wanted to help.

A California YouTuber accused of directing a video in which fireworks were shot from a helicopter at a Lamborghini now faces a federal charge over the stunt, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday. The nearly 11-minute video, dubbed "Destroying a Lamborghini with Fireworks," was posted on the YouTube channel belonging to Alex Choi -- born Suk Min Choi -- last year, according to a federal complaint. The video -- which has since been taken down -- features two women in a helicopter repeatedly shooting fireworks at the Lamborghini in "what appears to be a live-action version of a fictionalized videogame scene," the complaint stated.
President Joe Biden's campaign will air an ad during the pregame show before Thursday night's first game of the NBA Finals, in an attempt to reach young voters who are expected to tune in for coverage of the game. The minute-long spot, titled "Flag," touts Biden's support for abortion rights and blasts the "extreme movement" seeking to discount election results and threaten America's democracy. A group of American lawmakers will honor the bravery of World War II veterans who took part in D-Day with a parachute jump into Normandy Friday morning, using some of the same vintage planes that flew American paratroopers over France 80 years ago. The lawmakers are all military veterans, and will be led by Reps. Jason Crow, D-Colo., and Michael Waltz, R-Fla. Also participating in the jump are: Reps. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, Ronny Jackson, R-Texas, Rich McCormick, R-Ga., Mark Green, R-Tenn., and Cory Mills, R-Fla. and Darrell Issa, R-Calif.
Up to one in five young athletes ages 10 to 31 may have pre-hypertension, a precursor to high blood pressure, according to a new preliminary study. More than 20% of athletes studied met the criteria for having high blood pressure, which can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Teenage boys appeared to be more at risk than teenage girls, according to the study, with more than double the rates of stage 1 and stage 2 hypertension.

Numerous tornadoes were reported in Maryland and northern Virginia Wednesday night, with winds up to 105 mph knocking downing trees and power lines. Five people were injured in the Mid-Atlantic, according to the National Weather Service. A tornado warning was issued late Wednesday in Montgomery County, Maryland, after a confirmed tornado was located near Poolesville, Maryland, about 20 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
Baby Brexley was traveling with her parents, mom Gracie Gray and dad Kahl Huffman, along U.S. Highway 54 in Kiowa County on May 12 when her parents said she suddenly stopped breathing, lost consciousness and started turning a purplish color. "On our way to church, she just kind of got into this weird cry, so I had Kahl pull over," Gray recounted to "Good Morning America." Both Gray, 22, and Huffman, 30, said they felt "helpless" at the time.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration rescinded its marketing ban on Juul Labs on Thursday, opening the door to possible authorization of its products. The reversal comes nearly two years after the federal health agency ordered the company's e-cigarettes and vaping products be taken off the market. The FDA had initially blocked Juul's application to sell its vaping device and tobacco- and menthol-flavored pods in June 2022, after completing a nearly two-year review of the manufacturer's application, finding that the applications "lacked sufficient evidence regarding the toxicological profile of the products to demonstrate that the marketing of the products met the public health standard required by law."
A day after she was reconvicted of slander in an Italian court, Amanda Knox spoke out on her podcast Thursday. The only remaining conviction associated with the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher, Knox was sentenced to three years for slandering Patrick Lumumba, a Congolese bar owner, in a written statement following the murder of her roommate. In an episode of her podcast, "Labyrinths," Knox said the reconviction brought her back to how she felt during her 2009 murder trial.

"It was the most excruciating pain to go through," Dorbert, 35, told "Good Morning America" of giving birth to her son Milo Evan Dorbert on March 3, 2023, after not being able to access abortion care in her home state of Florida. What Dorbert said she never could have imagined was the mental health crisis that would unfold for her over the next year, including, she said, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dr. David Talaen, co-lead author and a professor of emergency medicine and infectious diseases at UCLA, said after the 2022 global outbreak, there were small, localized outbreaks seen in cities including Chicago and Los Angeles, so the team wanted to examine if mpox was remerging. "The second thing was that mpox is not strictly a sexually transmitted infection," he told ABC News.

A jury has convicted former President Donald Trump of 34 counts of felony falsifying business records, but the case is far from over, with Trump expected to file an appeal after he is sentenced in July. "I'm assuming that the Trump team is going to have a robust appeal with a number of arguments starting from the pre-trial process, through the trial and possibly the sentencing," Fordham law Professor Cheryl Bader told ABC News. How Trump was charged in the Manhattan hush money case could be one of the strongest arguments for an appeal, some experts said.
