An adorable toddler covered in powdered sugar denied eating his mother's doughnuts in a viral TikTok video. "Hey, did you eat my doughnuts?" mom Carly Hodo asks her son Phoenix in the video, which has gathered over 1 million views since Hodo shared it on June 14. Phoenix, sporting sprinkles of powdered sugar on his face and shirt while sitting in a car, quickly shakes his head no.

Bisexual, transgender adults nearly twice as likely to experience loneliness: CDC
Bisexual and transgender adults are more likely to face loneliness than straight and cisgender adults, according to a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study published Thursday. Researchers looked at data from the 2022 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System—which collects information on health risk behaviors, preventive health practices, and health care access—and examined links between loneliness and lack of social and emotional support and mental health variables. Loneliness was highest among participants who identified as bisexual at 56.7% or transgender, which fell between 56.4% and 63.9% for transgender males, transgender females and transgender non-conforming.

Man critically injured after being struck by roller coaster at Ohio amusement park
A 38-year-old man was critically injured at a Mason, Ohio, amusement park Wednesday night after being hit by a roller coaster. The man had entered a restricted, fenced area of the Kings Island theme park near the Banshee roller coaster "and is believed to have been struck by the ride" around 8 p.m., a spokesperson for the park said in a statement. A witness said the man told a park employee he had lost something on the ride and needed to go back to get it, according to Cincinnati ABC affiliate WCPO.

Louisiana's Ten Commandments requirement in school classrooms spurs talk of legal battles
Several civil liberties groups say they are poised for a legal battle over Louisiana's new law requiring all public school classrooms to display the Ten Commandments one day after the law was signed by Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry. The groups – including The American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and the Freedom from Religion Foundation – said Wednesday that they plan to challenge the law in court. The groups say the law violates the separation of church and state in public buildings and would impact students’ education and safety, according to an ACLU statement.

President Joe Biden won the coin toss to secure a podium position on the right side of the stage during the CNN debate next week, but by doing so gave Donald Trump the final closing statement of the 90-minute matchup. The team then got to choose between podium placement or the order of closing arguments, picking to have Biden be on the right side of television and other screens but deliver his closing statement first.

Putin arrived in the Vietnamese capital on Thursday morning after visiting Pyongyang, where he met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and signed a controversial deal that included a mutual defense pledge to help each other in the event of aggression against either country.

The "armed and dangerous" suspect accused of three murders in Oklahoma, as well as a slew of other crimes, was caught Thursday morning following a nearly two-day manhunt. Stacy Lee Drake, 50, was taken into custody Thursday around 10 a.m., according to the Arkansas State Police. Drake was wanted in connection with three homicides in Oklahoma, stemming from two separate carjackings, according to Arkansas State Police.

Independent presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. has received intense public scrutiny for promoting an array of unconventional theories, from claiming that vaccines are behind an "epidemic" of diseases in America to insisting that the CIA was directly involved in the assassination of his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy. "The new head of NPR is a CIA agent," Kennedy declared at a New York campaign fundraiser in April, drawing gasps from some of his supporters. At the fundraiser, Kennedy said Maher's hiring at NPR was just the latest salvo in the CIA's "systematic takeover of the American press, particularly the liberal media."

McDonald's is launching a new $5 Meal Deal that hits menus nationwide in tandem with the official start of summer. Starting June 25, fans of the Golden Arches can order the new value meal that includes choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small french fries, 4 piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink, all for just $5. McDonald's currently offers some individual items on its $1, $2, $3 menu, but the company said its U.S. restaurants would benefit from more meal deals and promotions, since franchisees are back to profitability and can now add more value.

JetBlue will soon offer free carry-on bags for Blue Basic fares
Many travelers are taking tips from TikTok packing carry-on bags as efficiently as possible to avoid checked baggage fees, and while some airlines still charge for smaller roll aboard suitcases depending on your fare class, JetBlue just announced plans to drop the fee entirely. Starting September 6, all JetBlue customers, including Blue Basic fares, will receive one free carry-on bag in addition to one small personal item, the airline announced this week. Previously, customers who purchased a Blue Basic fare and wanted to bring a carry-on bag would need to buy another fare option or purchase an Even More Space seat.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday upheld a Trump-era tax on U.S. shareholders of some American-controlled foreign corporations, preserving a major source of government revenue while sidestepping the more controversial question of the constitutionality of the taxation of wealth. In a 7-2 decision, the court said a 2017 law signed by then-President Donald Trump to generate more than $340 billion is allowed under the 16th Amendment, which gives Congress the power to collect taxes on incomes but not explicitly on property. A Washington state couple, Charles and Kathleen Moore, sued to strike down the law saying a $15,000 tax bill they paid as shareholders of an Indian company was illegal because they had not personally realized any financial gain.

Paleontologists discover fossils of new crocodile-like reptile species that lived 237 million years ago
Paleontologists have discovered a new species of ancient crocodile-like reptile that once roamed the lands and waters of Brazil. The fossils, found in a fossiliferous locality named "Linha Várzea 2" in southern Brazil, have now been dubbed Parvosuchus aurelioi, a new ancient species of small predatory reptiles that date back approximately 237 million years ago, according to a paper published in Scientific Reports on Thursday. The new species belongs to a group of crocodile-like reptiles called pseudosuchians and are the first "unequivocal" gracilisuchid, an extinct genus of tiny pseudosuchians, Rodrigo Müller, a paleontologist at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria and lead author of the paper, told ABC News via email.

7-year-old boy shot dead outside his front door in Chicago: 'Unbearable'
Chicago's mayor and police superintendent are outraged and searching for a killer after a 7-year-old boy was fatally shot in the chest in a random act of gun violence. The boy left his apartment to visit a next-door neighbor Tuesday afternoon, and when he reached the sidewalk, shots rang out, Chicago police Superintendent Larry Snelling said at a news conference. Police are searching for the gunman, Snelling said, noting that the shots were fired from "a really good distance."
