A British auction house is selling some very personal letters written by Princess Diana describing the turbulent times around her divorce from King Charles. The collection, called "Diana, The Private Correspondence of a Princess," is "an extraordinarily poignant collection of correspondence, written by one of the most important and influential women of the 20th century," Lays Auction House says on its website, "and documents one of her most valued and significant friendships during the last 2 years of her life." The letters were written by the princess to Susie and Tarek Kassem between 1995-1996.

The FBI conducted a "planned search" Wednesday of President Joe Biden's home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, according to Biden's personal lawyer. "Today, with the President's full support and cooperation, the DOJ is conducting a planned search of his home in Rehoboth, Delaware," wrote Bob Bauer, personal attorney for the president, in a new statement. Authorities say a 19-year-old woman scammed more than 400 donors, accumulating over $37,000, with false claims that she suffered from cancer, which she had allegedly touted on social media. Madison Russo was charged with theft on Jan. 23, according to the Eldridge Police Department in Eldridge, Iowa. According to the press release, Russo allegedly made false claims including that "she suffered acute lymphoblastic leukemia, stage 2 pancreatic cancer and a tumor the size of a football."
Kicking off its investigations into the Biden administration on Wednesday, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee will hold a hearing on COVID relief money spent during the pandemic, which Republicans argue was a “prescription for waste, fraud and abuse” and has been ignored by Democrats for the last two years of Biden’s administration. “We owe it to the American people to get to the bottom of the greatest theft of American taxpayer dollars in history,” Republican Chairman James Comer of Kentucky will tell the committee, according to prepared remarks shared with ABC News. “We must identify where this money went, how much ended up in the hands of fraudsters or ineligible participants, and what should be done to ensure it never happens again,” Comer is expected to say in his opening remarks.
A New York City woman has been charged with using cryptocurrency to provide financial support to terrorist groups in Syria, a rare prosecution involving virtual currency to fund terrorism. The 11-count indictment charged Victoria Jacobs, 43, who was known as Bakhrom Talipov, with providing support for an act of terrorism, money laundering and other crimes. Jacobs provided material support to Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, a U.S. State Department-designated foreign terrorist organization, and provided more than $5,000 to the terrorist training group Malhama Tactical, which fought with and provided special tactical and military training to Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, the indictment said.

Caesium-137 is a human-made fission project often used in radiological laboratories as well as in industrial settings, such as within gauges in mining operations, Angela Di Fulvio, an assistant professor of nuclear engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, told ABC News. The tiny capsule filled with Caesium-137, at 8 millimeters tall and 6 millimeters in diameter, was found on the roadside of a remote highway Wednesday afternoon, six days after it went missing in Western Australia.

Two of the former Memphis police officers charged in the death of Tyre Nichols were previously reprimanded for not filing required paperwork after forcibly arresting individuals, ABC News has learned. ABC News obtained personnel records for Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Emmitt Martin III, Desmond Mills Jr. and Justin Smith, all of whom were fired from the Memphis Police Department last month before being arrested and charged with several felonies, including second-degree murder. The records show Mills failed to submit a "Response to Resistance" form after using force to assist other officers with arresting a woman in 2019.
A mountain lion attack just 40 miles south of San Francisco has left a young child in an unknown condition at a local trauma center. The incident occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the 1000 block of Tunitas Creek Road in an unincorporated area of San Mateo County -- which is located about 40 miles west of San Jose, California, and 40 miles south of San Francisco. Officials from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they were “dispatched to a report of a mountain lion attack and we can confirm a child was transported to a local trauma center after the attack,” according to a statement posted on social media.

A man accused of torturing a woman who authorities believe uses dating apps to find victims or people to help him evade police is now in custody following a manhunt, Oregon police said. Benjamin Obadiah Foster, 36, is wanted for attempted murder, kidnapping and assault, police said. A man police believe to be Foster was spotted walking a small dog in the Grants Pass area Tuesday morning, the department had said.

A man armed with an AR-15-style rifle was shot and killed by police after opening fire in a Target store in Nebraska, authorities said. The House could vote as soon as Wednesday on a resolution to keep Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., from the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The House Rules Committee voted along party lines on Tuesday night, 9-4, to advance a resolution to effectively block Omar from the panel -- by removing her once she is seated. The resolution, which was introduced by Republican Rep. Max Miller of Ohio, cites some of Omar's previous controversial statements to argue she doesn't have an "objective mindset."
