California Dad Captures Wife's Entire Pregnancy in 90 Seconds

A first-time father in California captured the changes in his wife during her pregnancy in a unique way, a 90-second time-lapse that shows her go from no belly to holding a baby.

Byron Louie said the process, which included taking one photo each day in the baby’s future nursery, helped the couple through the nervousness of a first pregnancy.

“It was something to keep us focused,” Byron Louie, 31, told ABC News. “For us to have this thing that we were working on together, it just made us happy during the time to do it.”

“We got rid of our nervousness through creativity,” he said of himself and his wife, Monique.

The couple's creativity extended to the nursery, which is seen in the background of the video transforming from a normal bedroom to a room fit for their newborn son, Dylan.

Louie, a graphic designer, says he used the time before Dylan’s birth to compose the video, for a very smart reason.

“I started putting it together about halfway through the pregnancy, and then before the baby was born the video was almost done because I knew I wouldn’t have time to do anything with it after,” he said.

Baby Dylan was born last week, weighing in at a healthy 7 pounds, 12 ounces.

The time-lapse ends with Byron and Monique together holding Dylan in the same spot where she had posed for nearly 300 photos over the course of about nine months.

The family of three is seen at the end with their dogs, Dunder and Munster, whom Louie describes as “really curious” about the new addition to the home.

Though Louie’s time-lapse video has garnered over 600,000 views on YouTube, the new dad says he envisions something more traditional for his son.

“I’ll probably just take pictures of him like any parent does,” Louie said.
