Don't expect newly engaged Katie Couric to throw a lavish wedding along the lines of Kim Kardashian or Kate Middleton.
The "Katie" host, 56, recently told " Access Hollywood" that her wedding to beau John Molner, who popped the question over Labor Day, would be something suitable for a mother of two grown daughters.
"It's not like I'm 22 and I'm going to plan a big thing with a big fluffy fancy dress," she told Access. "I want to do something that feels right for us and our situation."
Couric added that Molner, an executive at a Chicago-based investment firm, has a similar family situation, adding to the need for a smaller affair.
"We both have kids and I think I want to do what's tasteful and right," she said.
The former "Today" host added that her girls, Carrie and Ellie, both "think the world of John," but were shocked at the engagement after two years of dating.
"I think they were a little 'Wow,' because it's been the three of us for so long," she said. "He loves them and so I think it's all good."
