"GMA" is #1 During Week of Presidential Election Outperforming NBC's "Today"

First Time in More Than 20 Years "GMA" Beats "Today" in Total Viewers on Post-Presidential Election Day Telecast

Season-to-Date, "GMA" Leads "Today" by Largest Overall Viewer and Demo Margins in More Than 21 Years

"GMA" Continues to Grow Year-to-Year and Season-to-Date Among Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers While "Today" Declines by Double-Digits

For the week of November 5, 2012, ABC News' "Good Morning America" stood as the No. 1 morning news program during the week of the Presidential election in both Total Viewers (5.497 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.106 million), respectively, according to Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" outperformed NBC's "Today" (5.182 million and 2.095 million, respectively) during election week by +315,000 Total Viewers and by +11,000 Adults 25-54, taking the top spot in Total Viewers in all 7 weeks of the season and in 6 of 7 weeks in Adults 25-54.

On Wednesday (11/7/12) , the day following the 2012 Presidential Election, "GMA" aired the No. 1 morning telecast of the week, outdelivering "Today" by +46,000 Total Viewers (6.208 million vs. 6.162 million) in post-election coverage. Compared to 4 years ago (11/5/08), "GMA" trailed "Today" by 1.202 million (6.056 million vs. 7.258 million). In fact, the Wednesday telecast marked the first time in more than 20 years that "GMA" beat "Today" in Total Viewers on the post-Presidential election-day telecast - since before the 1992 Presidential Election; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Additionally, the post-election telecast represented "GMA's" most-watched (6.208 million) since the "GMA" telecast of the royal wedding 1 1/2 years ago (4/29/11). Further, it was GMA's 2nd-most-watched in more than 7 1/2 years - since 2/28/05.

"GMA" improved year to year in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%) - 5.165 million and 2.016 million, respectively, on w/o 11/7/11. In fact, the ABC program stood as the only morning newscast to build on the same week last year in both measures as "CBS This Morning" was mixed (+7%/-2%) , while NBC's "Today Show" posted double-digit losses (-13%/-17%).

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" is leading "Today" by its largest season margins in overall viewers (+513,000) and in the key adult news demo (+141,000) in more than 21 years - since at least the 1991-92 season, respectively; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Season to date "GMA" is up in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%) versus its year-ago averages, growing the most year to year in the key adult news demo (NBC's "Today" is down -13%/-22%, respectively; CBS' "This Morning" is up +8%/+2%, respectively). "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in 7 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 5 years - since the 2005-06 and 2007-08 seasons, respectively.

"GMA" towered over "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+86%) and Adults 25-54 (+85%) . In addition, "GMA" scored its largest Total Viewer advantage over the CBS program (+2.543 million) of the season.

In September, Goodmorningamerica.com reached 22M unique users and served over 85 million page views. It is the # 1 morning news website and beats MSNBC's Today by millions of users each month. This summer, visitors spent +16% more time on Goodmorningamerica.com compared to Today.
