'Dancing With the Stars': David Arquette Voted Off in Week 7, Boos Erupt From Ballroom Audience

Actor David Arquette was booted off the dance floor tonight on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

The actor, who has been energetic and engaging on the dance floor, had made progress during his time on the show’s season 13.  He had a strong fan following, and judges praised his cha-cha last night, but the scores from his group dance didn’t help.  TV host Nancy Grace had also been in jeopardy of being eliminated tonight.

Boos erupted from the audience when it was announced that Arquette was going home.

“This whole thing has been incredible,” Arquette said after the results were announced, standing next to his partner, Kym Johnson. He also joked that the results must be a mistake, adding “this is my show” — apparently poking fun at dance pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s infamous comment of a few weeks ago.

Arquette earned a 24 for his cha-cha, and 23 for his group tango. His total score of 47 points put him fourth among the six remaining competitors.

Elimination in the competition results from a combination of judges’ scores and viewer votes. The celebrity with the lowest combined scores is sent home, until three stars remain. They and their partners compete for the championship.

The actor’s family members – including daughter Coco, ex-wife Courteney, and his sisters, Rosanna Arquette and Patricia Arquette — have constantly been in the audience to cheer on the “Scream” actor’s performances.

Tonight’s show included performances from pop star Justin Bieber and the R&B group Boyz II Men, and a special dance by ‘Dancing’ pro Derek Hough and Allison Holker.

Former talk show host Ricki Lake topped the score board last night; Grace was the night’s low scorer.

Lake, Grace, actor J.R. Martinez, World Cup star Hope Solo and reality TV personality Rob Kardashian will all return to compete on Monday.

Chaz Bono was eliminated from the show last week.  The other celebrities who were voted off before him were fashion guru Carson Kressley, singer Chynna Phillips, reality TV star Kristin Cavallari, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis and NBA champ Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest).
