The Trump administration plans to change recommendations on who should get the COVID-19 vaccine to include everyone age 65 and older and younger adults with medical conditions, a major change ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's plans to announce a similar approach later this week. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said on ABC's "Good Morning America" that the administration will also stop holding enough vaccine to ensure there is enough for everyone to receive a second dose in the recommended time period, a change that Biden said he would make last week. The changes come amid public frustration about the pace of vaccinations and confusion about the process of who is eligible and limited number of appointments available to be vaccinated.
While the 24 remaining women find Matt James intoxicating, on Tuesday's edition of "The Bachelor," the atmosphere among the women after the first rose ceremony had quickly grown toxic. Host Chris Harrison delivered the first date card and warned the ladies that, due to the unusual number of contestants, some of them wouldn't be going on a date with Matt. Meanwhile, the other women were putting on their best faces, while secretly feeling the pressure of possibly not getting the all-important time with the Bachelor.
United Airlines told ABC News it has banned 60 people in the last week alone which is higher than their previous week averages. Many of the instances over the past week appear to be politically motivated, with people flying to and from Washington, D.C., following the riot on Capitol Hill. Alaska Airlines banned 14 passengers on a single flight from D.C. to Seattle one day after the riot because the airline said they were not wearing masks and harassing crew members.
President Donald Trump's first meeting with Vice President Mike Pence since before last week's deadly siege of the Capitol lasted 90 minutes and was friendly in nature, according to White House officials briefed on the meeting. The Oval Office conversation Monday evening marked the first time Trump had even spoken with Pence since he called him Wednesday morning, hours before the president's supporters stormed the Capitol at his urging. Trump met with Pence after his advisers and allies, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, had urged him to do so.

In search of historical guidance and legal tools to respond to the violent siege of the U.S. Capitol last week, members of Congress and legal scholars alike are re-examining a little known section of a Reconstruction-era constitutional amendment. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, in theory, gives Congress the authority to bar public officials, who specifically took an oath of allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, from holding office if they "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the Constitution and therefore broke their oath. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., formally asked her colleagues on Sunday for their views on this part of the Constitution.
As Trump loyalists stormed the U.S. Capitol last week, conservative-leaning social media sites like Parler and Gab erupted with talk of revolution and civil war, with trending hashtags like #StormTheCapitol. Experts tell ABC News that services like Parler -- whose app has now been removed from the leading app stores -- helped create echo chambers for violence and extremist views, then provided a platform for some of the coordination of last week's attack. "We've seen this coming for a while," Ben Decker, founder and CEO of Memetica, a company that provides intelligence and risk advisory services regarding harassment, disinformation, and violent extremism, told ABC News.

A police officer has been killed in the line of duty just one day away from retirement when a suspect intentionally crashed into his police cruiser. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) in Florida said that the incident occurred at approximately 3:42 p.m. on Jan. 11 when authorities received a report from the Paddock Club Apartments in Brandon, Florida, that a man had been “throwing property out of his apartment window and front door” and that the individual had allegedly threatened to harm himself in the past. HCSO deputies subsequently arrived to the apartments for a second time but when authorities tried to establish a dialogue with the man, later identified as 28-year-old Travis Zachary Gabriel Garrett, he turned combative and struck responding officer Michael Durig Jr. multiple times.

It causes liver damage and is associated with several heart problems.
Bill Belichick, the head coach of the New England Patriots, said on Monday that he is declining to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Donald Trump, citing last Wednesday's siege of the U.S. Capitol, which was partly incited by Trump. Trump had planned to present Belichick with the Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House on Thursday, a White House official confirmed to ABC News earlier on Monday.

Adam Johnson, 36, of Parrish, Florida, did not answer reporters' questions following his federal court appearance in Tampa. Federal investigators arrested Johnson on Friday and say he was the man seen in a viral photo taken during Wednesday's siege smiling as he carried the lectern through the halls of the building.

President Donald Trump will break his silence as he visits the U.S.-Mexico border near Alamo, Texas, Tuesday -- days after he was cut off from supporters when his Twitter account was permanently suspended. Apart from posting video on his Twitter page on Thursday, the president has remained behind closed doors at the White House -- spending his final days in office out of the public eye. "President Trump is expected to travel to Alamo, Texas, on Tuesday to mark the completion of more than 400 miles of border wall -- a promise made, promise kept -- and his administration's efforts to reform our broken immigration system," White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere told reporters ahead of the visit.
A Kentucky lawmaker has begun the state's legislative session by introducing three bills that address police conduct and protests in the wake of the shooting death of Breonna Taylor. State Rep. Lisa Willner told ABC News in a statement she introduced the three bills in the Kentucky General Assembly after hearing firsthand accounts of constituents who say they have been victims of police misconduct, particularly during the protests surrounding Taylor's case. "Many were met with violent responses, unjustified arrests and brutal and dehumanizing treatment at the hands of those sworn to protect them," Willner, a Democrat, told ABC News in a statement.
The United States economy lost a net 140,000 jobs in December, and all of them were women's jobs, U.S. employment figures show. There were nearly 2.1 million fewer women in the labor force in December than there were in February, before the pandemic started, according to an analysis of BLS data by the National Women's Law Center (NWLC), a policy-focused organization that fights for gender justice. "We're now at a labor force participation rate [for women] that we haven't seen for 30 years," Jasmine Tucker, NWLC's director of research, told "Good Morning America." "It's just blow after blow.

Two days after a 26-year-old Boeing 737 crashed off the coast of Jakarta, Indonesia, divers continue to scour the Java Sea floor in an attempt to retrieve the black boxes from the doomed Sriwijaya Air flight. Sixty-two people were onboard the plane for an intended one-and-a-half hour flight to Pontianak, but just four minutes after takeoff the jet lost contact with air traffic control. Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) confirmed late Sunday it has detected two pings transmitted about 150 to 200 meters apart where the plane crashed, giving dive teams a general search area, but as of Monday afternoon the black boxes have not been found.
