The timeless children’s book series “Angelina Ballerina” is hitting shelves again.
Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing announced the series about an enchanting fictional mouse who dreams of becoming a professional ballerina would re-release the first classic picture book this month and 10 new titles in 2020, with more planned for 2021.
The spring 2020 titles include "Angelina Ballerina Center Stage," "Angelina Ballerina and the Tea Party" and "Angelina Loves."
"I know Angelina’s many fans will be as pleased as I am to see the classic Angelina books beautifully republished along with a terrific line up of fun new formats and stories," author Katharine Holabird, whose first Angelina Ballerina book was released in 1983, said in a press release.
Helen Craig, who illustrated the series, is also set to be involved in the forthcoming relaunch, which promises more adventures for the mouse who’s fiercely determined to follow her heart and her dreams.
“She’s the perfect heroine -- focused, determined, passionate -- yet she also understands that when your parents ask you to tidy your room, you sometimes have to put your aspirations on hold while you pick up the toys off the floor,” said Valerie Garfield, the Simon Spotlight imprint’s vice president and publisher of Novelty & Licensed Publishing.
