An hourslong standoff between law enforcement and an armed man who allegedly tried to break into the FBI's Cincinnati office has ended, officials said. Ohio State Highway Patrol started pursuing the suspect shortly after 9:30 a.m. after he allegedly fled from the field office. Troopers followed the suspect, who was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria, to Clinton County, where shots were fired, according to officials.
Dozens of people were injured on a ride at an amusement park in Germany on Thursday, police said. The incident occurred at a Legoland park in Günzburg in Bavaria shortly before 2 p.m. local time, when two trains on a roller coaster collided, local police said in a statement. The accident occurred when one train on the roller coaster stopped, and a train behind it did not brake fully, crashing into it, police said.

Authorities have determined that Harmony Montgomery, a little girl who disappeared in 2019, was murdered in Manchester, New Hampshire, in early December 2019, officials announced Thursday. Harmony would be 8 years old if alive today. Harmony's remains have not been found but "multiple sources of investigative information, including biological evidence," led to the conclusion that she's dead, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said at a news conference.
The man charged in the killings of at least two of the four Muslim men killed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in recent months has a history of arrests for domestic violence, police said. Muhammad Syed, 51, is charged with murder in the shooting deaths of 25-year-old Naeem Hussain on Aug. 5 and 41-year-old Aftab Hussein on July 26, according to the Albuquerque Police Department. Syed denied being involved in the deaths of the men after he was arrested, according to police.
Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday afternoon spoke for the first time since FBI agents raided former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida. Citing "the substantial public interest in this matter," Garland said the government had filed a motion to unseal the warrant authorizing Monday's search, which Trump has sharply criticized as a partisan attack. It was not immediately clear how quickly the judge in the case may release the warrant and federal prosecutors noted in their request, filed Thursday, that it should be granted only "absent objection by former President Trump."
One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting that stemmed from an altercation at a Northern California gym, police said. The three people hurt self-transported to hospitals and are expected to survive, Brentwood police told ABC News. The gunshots rang out just before 2 a.m. outside a 24 Hour Fitness in Brentwood, which is about 55 miles east of San Francisco.

The current teacher shortage facing the United States is a "five-alarm crisis," according to Rebecca Pringle, the president of the National Education Association, the largest teachers' union in the country. “We have been sounding the alarm for almost a decade and a half that we have a crisis in the number of students who are going into the teaching profession and the number of teachers who are leaving it,” said Pringle. Three people are dead after a house exploded Wednesday in southern Indiana, officials said. Dozens of firefighters responded to the scene in Evansville, after the blast occurred Wednesday afternoon on the 1000 block of North Weinbach Avenue, officials said. Three deaths have been reported to the Vanderburgh County Coroner's Office as a result of the explosion, Chief Deputy Coroner David Anson said in a statement.

Children in London are being offered polio vaccine boosters after sewage samples with the virus were found in multiple areas across the city. The U.K. Health Security Agency announced Wednesday that all children between ages 1 and 9 across the British capital will be eligible to receive an inactivated polio vaccine booster. "While the majority of Londoners are protected from polio, the [National Health Service] will shortly be contacting parents of eligible children aged 1 to 9 years old to offer them a top-up dose to ensure they have maximum protection from the virus," Jane Clegg, chief nurse for the NHS in London, added.
The Justice Department unsealed charges Wednesday against an Iranian national and member of Iran's Revolutionary Guard who prosecutors say tried to arrange the murder of John Bolton, Donald Trump's former national security adviser. The criminal complaint was filed against 45-year-old Shahram Poursafi. Prosecutors allege that Poursafi tried to arrange the murder of Bolton in “likely” retaliation for the murder of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, who was killed on January 3, 2020, during the Trump administration.
Former President Donald Trump received a subpoena in the spring for documents related to what he is believed to have failed to turn over to the National Archives, which had recovered 15 boxes of material from his Mar-a-Lago estate in January, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News. Gloucester County Emergency Management issued a shelter-in-place around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday for East Greenwich, Paulsboro, Gibbstown and areas across the Delaware River after the fumes worsened.
