One person is dead, and five others are injured after a shooting that took place near Atlantic Station Saturday evening in Atlanta, Georgia, the Atlanta Police Department said. One male was pronounced deceased on the scene and five other victims were shot and later transported to nearby hospitals, Atlanta Police Lt. Germain Dearlove said in a press conference Saturday night. A group of people were escorted off of Atlantic Station property by off-duty Atlanta police officers and station personnel at about 8 p.m., police said.
Police are investigating an apparent triple homicide after three people were found dead in a Southern California residence by firefighters responding to a fire in the home. Officers with the Riverside Police Department were in the process of responding to the home, located on the 1000 block of Price Court, to conduct a welfare check Friday morning, following the report of a "disturbance" between a man and woman near a car, police said. "Shortly after that, before [officers] arrived, the fire department responded for what appeared to be a fire" at the same location, Riverside Police Officer Ryan Railsback told reporters during a press briefing Friday night.

What a Feeling," has died at age 63, her publicist posted on Twitter and on the late singer's website Saturday. "It is with profound sadness that on behalf of her family I announce the passing of Irene Cara," publicist Judith A. Moose posted online. A Utah man is facing charges after allegedly bringing a straight edge razor blade on a flight and holding it near a passenger's throat. A 28-year-old man who went overboard while on a Carnival cruise ship in the Gulf of Mexico was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard almost 20 hours after he was reported missing. The guest, according to a representative with Carnival Cruise Line, was at a bar with his sister on the Carnival Valor and left to use the bathroom at around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. The Coast Guard received the call at approximately 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

A 31-year-old woman was found dead at Zion National Park in Utah after her husband reported the couple experienced symptoms of hypothermia while camping in the park. The husband told authorities the couple were on a permitted 16-mile hike in the park's Narrows section on Tuesday when they became "dangerously cold" overnight, the national park said in a statement Thursday. The 33-year-old man went to look for help Wednesday morning, but search and rescue teams determined the woman was deceased after park visitors and first responders attempted to administer first aid, the statement said.
The suspect in a deadly shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado will continue to be held without bond, a judge ruled during their first court appearance on Wednesday. Five people were killed and 17 others wounded by gunfire in the mass shooting at Club Q in Colorado Springs late Saturday night.
