GETTING STARTED
Climb aboard the train! Mexican Train is a very popular dominoes game. Our version is played with four players and a tile set that goes up to double nines. Build a train by placing matching tiles end to end. Win the round by ridding yourself of all your dominoes. If you have the lowest score at the end of four rounds, you win the game!
START OF GAME
Each player starts the round with 9 dominoes. In the first round, a double nine is place in the center; this center tile is referred to as the engine. In the rounds that follow, the engine tile is double sixes, double threes, and double blanks. The goal in the first phase of each round is to play as many tiles possible on your personal train. Once you are done playing tiles on your train, press the Done button.
THE PLAY
After the first phase, you can place an end-matching domino from your hand onto your personal train, the shared Mexican Train, or an opponent's train. You can only play on your opponent's train if their train is public - it will be marked with a train icon. A train goes public if you are forced to pass. It doesn't become private again until you play a domino on your train (not the Mexican Train or someone else's train). If you're unable to play a tile, you will be given one from the Boneyard. If you're still unable to play a tile, you will be forced to pass.
MEXICAN TRAIN
The Mexican Train is a public train that anyone can choose to play on. You can play a domino on the Mexican Train after the first phase (when you play as many tiles as you can on your personal train).
DOUBLES
A double tile is always placed sideways on the train. When you play a double you must play an additional tile; however, you cannot play two doubles in a row. You may play the additional tile on the double or on another eligible train. If the previous player has left a double "open" (not played on), then you must play a tile on that double (That train will be marked with a "!!!" icon). If you are unable to play a tile, you will be given one tile from the Boneyard. If you're still unable to play a tile, you will be forced to pass.
