When Caramel Sauce Becomes Lava

It’s true: None of us are immune to the potential for truly epic culinary blunders. That includes Nadine Levy Redzepi, wife of the illustrious chef at famed restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, and no slouch in the baking department, herself. (Her walnut cake is good enough to make the pages of Bon Appétit magazine!)

"I thought I’d share what happens when you don’t watch over your caramel sauce," Nadine wrote alongside the above photo on Instagram. “It burns and turns into a sort of lava.” Husband René re-grammed the photo to his roughly 85,000 followers, which makes us wonder: Could this mishap inspire another of his laboratory-like "New Nordic" creations?
