We Got a Sneak Peek at Lay’s New Flavor Contest
Lay’s is back with a new flavor contest! Similar to its “Do Us a Flavor”, Lay’s is going to be offering its fans a chance to help decide new flavors to add to its lineup. The popular potato chip contest, which started in 2012, welcomed people to submit new flavor ideas for the chance of winning a $1 million grand prize.
While the details of the new contest are still shrouded in mystery, we did get a shot at guessing what four brand-new flavors will be up for a public vote. Though we only correctly guessed one flavor in our last Lay’s taste test — predicting Truffle Fries would be one of the finalists — we were convinced that this time around, with enough group tasting power, we would be able to peg these flavors.
To add an extra challenge to us chip connoisseurs, Lay’s threw four of their classic flavors into the box they sent us with the new flavors, all in identical unmarked bags, leaving us to ponder over which was which. While some were instantly recognizable (hey, Cheddar and Sour Cream), most left us perplexed. After a very serious taste test and flavor analysis among our editors, here are our guesses for the new flavors, the old flavors, and every chip in between.
