You say you want a cocktail that’s light enough to sip steadily during the day at a family or friendly get-together because too much of the hard stuff and Great Aunt Flo is on her tush. This sangria is that cocktail. We used fall fruit and hard cider for a light apple-y effervescence. Why should summer have all the fun?

Directions:
1. Juice one of the lemons into a bowl, and cut the second into thin wheels.
2. Slice the apples and pears around the core, and then slice into thin slices, tossing into the lemon juice as you cut to prevent browning.
3. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine lemon slices, apples, pears, apple juice, brandy and cider. Stir gently to combine and serve.
*Pro Tip: The night before your gathering, combine all of the ingredients except the hard cider and chill overnight so flavors combine. Add cider just before serving.
