Do our eyes deceive us, or are there turn-of-the-century English housemaids serving tea from a food truck in Manhattan?

Nope! Eyes are fine. The truck is a promotion from PBS’s Masterpiece series, which produces the British period drama “Downton Abbey.” Its fifth season starts January 5, hence the hubbub.

The Downtonmobile is making stops in New York City all week, according to Variety, and Lady Grantham-approved staff are handing out free tea and biscuits to fans of the show.

A PBS Vine offers this view of the commotion:

People are just as excited about the whole thing as you might expect. Check out that crowd:

If you find yourself in New York City this week, here’s a list of the truck’s planned stops:

  • Monday, Dec. 9: East 14th St. at University Place (southwest corner)

  • Tuesday, Dec. 10: 6th Ave. between 40th and 41st streets

  • Wednesday, Dec. 11: 50th St. between 6th and 7th avenues (north side)

  • Thursday, Dec. 12: The New York Times TimesCenter, 41st St. between 7th and 8th avenues

  • Friday, Dec. 13: Broadway between 66th and 67th streets (west side)

Cheerio!
