Acorn Squash Stuffed With Sausage and Apple Is Your New Go-To Thanksgiving Side

Stuffing your turkey is a debate that rages on during Thanksgiving, but BuzzFeed makes the decision over whether or not to stuff acorn squash quite simple: yes!

This video above demonstrates a recipe for acorn squash stuffed with spicy sausage and apple for a delicious and decorative side dish for your holiday dinners.

Slice open an acorn squash and roast in the oven at 400°F. Then, cook up your favorite sausage with onion, celery, and apples, and combine with breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese. Spoon the mixture into the squash, top with a sprinkle of cheese, and bake for 20 minutes.

Grab a spoon and scoop out a bite of the sweet meaty mixture and the roasted starchy squash. It’ll make you forget all about the turkey, no matter what’s stuffed inside.
