3D-Printed Candies Are a Geek's Dream Dessert

If you’d been ignoring 3D-printed food in the hope that it’d just disappear, you might want to rethink that strategy. Three-dimensional printing is here to stay, people, and these adorable geometric candies in vibrant neon shades are the best proof yet that it can be used to create beautiful things.
The sweets are the work of L.A.-based candy company The Sugar Lab, helmed by husband-and-wife team Kyle and Liz von Hasseln.
"If you’ve ever made frosting and left the mixing bowl in the sink overnight, you know that moistened sugar gets quite hard," the pair told design site Dezeen. ”That’s the underlying concept of 3D printing with sugar.”

The neon candies are currently for sale on the website Cubify ($36 for a baker’s dozen), which describes them as “chewy,” with a “bold tart apple flavor.”
Unfortunately for most of us, right now only Los Angeles residents can order delivery of the sweets. (Lucky!) But at least they’re for sale, unlike those unappetizing-looking 3D-printed pizzas.
