AKIKO FUJITA: Breaking news out of Washington, and we're talking about the highest court here. The Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announcing he is retiring after more than 27 years on the bench. This according to NBC News. So he himself has not confirmed it. We're going off of NBC reports. This, of course, provides a big opportunity for the Biden administration to tap a liberal justice.

Of course, Justice Breyer has been facing some pressure here to retire because of the bend that we have started to see on the Supreme Court with six conservative justices. Remember, there were three justices that were nominated under President Trump. So once again, multiple outlets now reporting that Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is stepping down from the highest court after more than 27 years on the bench.
