British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to two decades in prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking in crimes connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

SEANA SMITH: All right, here is a news alert for you. Ghislaine Maxwell sentenced to 20 years in prison. Now she was previously convicted for carrying out a longtime scheme with Jeffrey Epstein to abuse and exploit underage girls. Now the sentence comes in shorter than the 30 to 55 years federal prosecutors had asked for. Judge Alison Nathan saying in the hearing today that the sentence will, quote, "attempt to acknowledge the harm that Ms. Maxwell has caused."
