An Update From the Yahoo Finance Live Team

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to unfold, our number one priority is to bring you—our readers and viewers—timely and accurate news and information. That means continuing to stay on top of the situation with trusted real-time updates and reporting. The safety of our reporters, producers, and studio teams is our top priority.

You’ve likely noticed new setups behind the familiar faces you see anchoring Yahoo Finance’s live video bell-to-bell coverage this week. That’s because our eight hours of live weekday coverage is being produced, directed and operated remotely thanks to an innovative, passionate team and cutting edge technologies.

Which technologies? Google Hangouts Meet and apps like Agent IC, which our anchors now use to communicate with producers and directors; or Haivision Play Pro, which our crew uses to remotely see and access the control room multi-view; and also Slack and Skype. Several weeks ago, if challenged with operating remotely, we would have told you that the mobile production you see today would be nearly impossible.

In addition, the production team, working remotely, has been creative enough to continue to increase functionality every day including expanded dynamic graphics and improved video playback.

We’re so proud and grateful for the incredible work that our Verizon Media studios and Yahoo Finance teams have put forth and to you for the opportunity to continue to be your trusted source of information. Onward together!
