Morgan Stanley beats, Alcoa tumbles, Goldman loves Walmart

Let’s check out the Yahoo Finance charts of the day.

Morgan Stanley (MS) shares are higher in early trading as the investment bank reported an earnings and revenue beat for the quarter, although revenue was lower year over year. The results were boosted by strong performance in its wealth management business.

Alcoa (AA) shares are tumbling in midday trading as the aluminum producer is taking it on the chin after its latest earnings release, missing on both profit and revenue. Alcoa blamed higher alumina costs for its results.

Walmart (WMT) shares are getting a boost in early trading, as Goldman added the world’s largest retailer to its Conviction Buy List, claiming that with the new tax law it “expects the mass market to benefit from stronger income growth.”
