CHICAGO — An Illinois iLottery player is getting ready to celebrate this weekend after hitting a nearly $750,000 jackpot while playing an online Fast Play game this week.

The lucky lotto player snagged the $746,348 prize while playing the progressive Fast Play game Twenty 20s, which offers players the chance at a jackpot that starts at $50,000 and climbs each time a ticket is sold statewide and online.

The major win happened on Wednesday, according to officials from the Illinois Lottery.

Twenty-20s is a $20 ticket and while players have a 1 in 3.27 chance of winning a prize, jackpot odds are much higher at 1 in 80,0000.

After taxes, the lucky winner will take home about $530,280, which equals out to about $179,123 in federal taxes and $36,944 in state taxes, according to the lottery tax calculator from TaxAct.

Twenty-20s is one of more than 25 Fast Play games available in the state, and while the jackpot ticket was bought online, Fast Play games can also be purchased in person, at participating retail locations.

The lucky player snagged one of more than over 408,000 winning Twenty 20s tickets sold this year, which have netted players more than $23.5 million in prizes.

Details about the big win were released on Friday morning but officials did not disclose the name of the winner.

Fast Play Winners have one year from the date of winning to claim their prizes.
