Sunday is a day to save some dough.

Feb. 9 is National Pizza Day and businesses across the nation are celebrating with discounted pizza and other specials. Through rewards programs and signup offers, you also can score a free slice or pie.

One of the best pizza deals isn't at a restaurant but at the gym.

Planet Fitness is hosting “an epic carbs and cardio pizza, bagel and workout party” Sunday at its approximately 2,000 U.S. locations and everyone is invited, even if they’re not a member.

From 7 to 10 a.m., there will be free bagels, and from 4 to 7 p.m., there will be free pizza, while supplies last. Planet Fitness also is inviting anyone 18 and older to work out for free Sunday with valid photo ID.

In the past, National Bagel Day also was held on Feb. 9, but the hole-y day moved to mid-January this year to avoid sharing the spotlight with pizza.

According to an analysis by Womply, a small business software provider, local pizza restaurants expect higher than usual foot traffic for the food day. With the Academy Awards Sunday, pizzerias and delivery services also could be busy.

The following offers are available Sunday, Feb. 9, at participating locations unless otherwise noted. To be on the safe side, check with your closest location before heading out. Some will require you to have a restaurant's app or be signed up for emails.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse: Through Sunday, get $10 off an order of $40 or more with a coupon in-store or online with promo code 10OFF40.

Blaze Pizza: Get a free large, Build-Your-Own Pizza with a $25 minimum purchase on Postmates Sunday with code PIZZADAY.

CAULIPOWER: The cauliflower pizza brand is giving away a year’s supply of pizza to "parents expecting a bundle of joy to arrive on the greatest day of the year." On Sunday, go to www.bornonpizzaday.com to sign up for a chance to send friends, family members or yourself a year’s supply of CAULIPOWER pizza" with other baby essentials. Offers will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

The Cheesecake Factory: Through Feb. 12, get a free slice of cheesecake with online pickup orders of $30 or more. To get the free slice, add a slice of cheesecake or layer cake to qualifying orders and use the promotion code FREESLICE at checkout. Limit one free slice per purchase and this offer is not valid on DoorDash orders.

Chipotle Mexican Grill: Not a pizza deal, but every Sunday in February is Free Delivery Sunday. Get free delivery on all orders $10 or more online or with Chipotle's app.

Chuck E. Cheese’s: From Sunday through Feb. 14, purchase any large pizza and get a free upgrade to an xlarge pizza. Find other deals at www.chuckecheese.com.

Cicis: Through Sunday, get three, large one-topping pizzas for $5 each with carryout orders with this coupon.

Domino's: With the mix and match special, choose two menu items for $5.99 each. Items include medium two-topping pizzas, Specialty Chicken, eight-piece chicken wings or boneless wings and more.
