Zydeco legend Chester ‘Tune’ Chevalier dies at 81
ARNAUDVILLE, La. (KLFY) — Award-winning zydeco artist Chester “Tune” Chevalier, 81, died peacefully this morning at his home in Arnaudville surrounded by family and loved ones.
Chevalier was a worldwide touring guitarist and bandleader for renowned Lafayette zydeco bands such as The Creole Zydeco Farmers, Fernest & the Thunders and a short time most recently with The Inner City Rhythm and Blues Band.
Chevalier cut 27 albums and played at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 17 times.
According to Chevalier’s family, funeral arrangements are pending.
