'Zootopia 2' to open in 2025, 'Frozen 3,' 'Toy Story 5' in 2026

Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Zootopia 2 is coming to theaters in 2025.

Disney CEO Bob Iger gave an update on the animated film and other projects Wednesday during the company's Q1 2024 earnings call.

Zootopia 2 will officially open Nov. 26, 2025.

The original Zootopia was released in 2016. The film followed Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), a rabbit police officer, and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), a fox con artist, as they uncover a conspiracy.

The voice cast also included Idris Elba, Kristen Bell, Jenny Slate, J.K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk and Shakira.

Zootopia grossed over $1 billion and won an Oscar for Best Animated Film.

Iger also said Wednesday that animated films Frozen 3 and Toy Story 5 will open in 2026.

In addition, Moana 2 was announced for release Nov. 27 of this year. Disney shared a teaser photo showing Moana sailing the seas with a whale shark nearby in the waters.
