Zoe Saldaña Wishes 'Genuine' Penélope Cruz a Happy Birthday: 'Hope You Were Celebrated'

"Te quiero mucho mujer," Zoe Saldaña wrote on Instagram while celebrating her friend Penélope Cruz's 50th birthday

Penélope Cruz's friends are pouring on the birthday tributes.

After Cruz turned 50 on Sunday, April 28, Zoe Saldaña shared a selfie of her smiling with the Academy Award winner on Instagram.

"Happy Birthday @penelopecruzoficial You are kind and genuine through and through," Saldaña, 45, wrote in the caption to her post. "And my God are you talented!"

"I hope you were celebrated like the true Queen that you are!" she added in the comment. To finish, she wrote in Spanish, "Te quiero mucho mujer," which translates to, "I love you very much, woman."

Cruz reshared photos from what appeared to be a star-studded birthday party to Instagram on Sunday, April 28, where she posed with friends like the Italian fashion designer Riccardo Tisci and model Irina Shayk. Shayk, 38, also posted a photo of herself and Cruz posing together while touching their heads together, writing in her Instagram Stories, "Happiest bday to the most beautiful woman on earth !!!! Kind, sweet and funny and the best mama @penelopecruzofficial."

Cruz also shared more photos that appeared to be from the same party on Monday, April 29, showing herself posing with her Ferrari costar Adam Driver, as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal, Robert De Niro and Matt Damon, among others, at the event.

Salma Hayek, whom both Cruz and Saldaña are friends with, also celebrated Cruz on Instagram as she marked the milestone birthday. "Happy Birthday Penelope 🎂. Thank you God for sending to Earth a special number of years ago an angel," she wrote in a caption to a carousel of photos showing the pair through the years.

"All of us whose [sic] crossed paths with her know that she’s made our life crazy, exciting, meaningful, inspiring and taught us the meaning of solidarity and loyalty with so much love," Hayek, 57, added.

Hayek previously shared a photo of her, Cruz and Saldaña holding each other while lying on the ground on Instagram in August 2023. "A circle of love, support, empowerment and long lasting friendship ♾️♥️ #grateful," she wrote in a caption at that time.

A source recently told PEOPLE that Cruz "is fulfilled, in a solid marriage and has a happy life,” as she turns 50. The actress has been married to Javier Bardem since 2010. “Penelope is fine with turning 50 and believes the early years of working all of the time paid off but are behind her," the source said. "Now she can pick and choose. And she is quite content with how everything has turned out for her."
