Tom Holland's work as Spider-Man benefitted him at more than just the box office, according to Zendaya.

The actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 18 to promote her upcoming movie Challengers. This led host Jimmy Kimmel to question the actress if she had ever been pulled over for speeding.

While she insisted she had not, Zendaya did reveal a past instance where her boyfriend's on-screen persona helped him in a sticky situation involving the police.

“Tom and I were rushing to a spin class … with my mother,” she told Kimmel. “I was not going to do the spin class. He was going to do the spin class ’cause I don’t do that. But we were going a little fast ’cause we were running late.”

It was then that a police officer pulled the trio over, she said. However, Holland's work as Spider-Man played to his advantage, as the officers were fans of his work.

“They recognized that he was Spider-Man, and we were fine,” Zendaya recalled during the show. “We got a warning, and everything was okay.”

Holland told GQ in 2021 they had a desire to keep their relationship private, noting, "Loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other."

Between Instagram tributes, holding hands at movie screenings, stepping out to date nights, Holland fixing Zendaya's door and plenty of other displays of affection over the years, the two's relationship has blossomed from friendship to romance in the time since they first became costars in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
