The celebrity power couple were rushing to a spin class — and not for her, to be clear.

It turns out there are benefits to being Spider-Man’s girlfriend. In the 2021 Marvel movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, the publication of Peter Parker’s secret identity causes a lot of trouble for his beloved MJ (Zendaya), but real life is a different story.

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday night, Zendaya revealed that she and  Tom Holland recently got out of some trouble when the police recognized her boyfriend’s superhero bona fides.

“Tom and I were rushing to a spin class with my mother,” Zendaya told Kimmel, making sure to subsequently clarify that the spin class was for Holland, not her. “We were going a little fast, we were running late. They recognized that he was Spider-Man, and we were fine. We just got a warning.”

Zendaya has had many on-screen love interests, from Dune’s Timothee Chalamet to both Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor in her newest film Challengers, but Holland is the one that’s crossed over to real life. They’ve been dating for a few years now, and they do tend to cause a scene when they go out in public.

Zendaya recently revealed in another interview that she and Holland were warned not to go on a date to Paris' Louvre Museum in fall 2022, but they did anyway — and, naturally, went viral.
