Zendaya Channels Diana Ross, Grace Jones, and Other Hair Icons
Zendaya is quite the hair chameleon. She recently rocked a short bob and cornrows at Paris Fashion Week, and sported dreadlocks to the 2015 Academy Awards, prompting Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic’s “racist” comments. Now the 19-year-old is channeling some of the great Hollywood hair icons for Mane Addicts.
Posing with a larger-than-life afro wig, the Disney star looks every bit like Diana Ross in one image. In another, she shows off a high-top fade, an homage to Grace Jones. Brooke Shields was the inspiration behind another look, with a teased out, side-swept classic ‘80s ‘do.
“I’ve taken fashion risks since I was really young,” she told the site. “I’ve always been into dressing different and doing different things.”
The teen also talked about the other celebrities who’ve inspired her ever-evolving red carpet style. “I love people who take risks and do their own thing, [like] Erykah Badu because she is effortlessly amazing, or Janet [Jackson],” she said. “I think we all want to channel our inner Janet."
