"As for the front, I will say briefly and without details, although they will be good: we are moving forward and liberating our land," the head of state said.

He noted that Russia’s sham referendums in the temporarily occupied territories would not change the situation.

"We will act to protect our people: in Kherson and Zaporizhzhya oblasts, in Donbas, in the occupied districts of Kharkiv Oblast and in Crimea," Zelenskyy said.

“This farce in the occupied territory cannot even be called an imitation of referendums.”

The Zelenskyy administration announced on Sept. 27 that since the beginning of a new counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 454 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast from the Russian troops. Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said that since Sept. 6 (in the space of one week), the defenders of Ukraine had liberated 388 settlements and about 8,500 square kilometers of territory in the region.
