Fatherhood has slightly altered Zayn Malik’s TV taste.

In a behind-the-scenes video with NYLON, following his candid new interview, the “PILLOWTALK” singer revealed that he’s a sensitive guy, and some of the things that pull at his heartstrings include one of his daughter Khai’s favorite TV shows and movies.

"I'm actually quite a sensitive guy,” the 31-year-old singer told the outlet. “I cry a lot at movies.”

Once asked what the most recent film he cried at, he revealed it was “probably a Disney film,” adding that he watches a lot of them with his 3½-year-old daughter. He shares Khai with ex-girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid.

“They hit hard, my man; it’s not a joke. Disney knows what they’re doing,” said Malik. “I actually I cried at a cartoon, I don’t know if it's familiar with people. It's called Bluey. It’s for kids.”

Adding, “It makes me cry regularly. I don't know why.”

The singer applauded the series writers, saying, “They have amazing script writers and some of the stories are just so like, wicked for parents, you know?” He clarified that “there's always like an underlying message that they always get me, man. They choke me up, I end up crying.”

Bluey follows the adventures of a six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy, her four-year-old little sister, and their parents. The Australian series first started airing in October 2018 and has since become one of the most popular kid’s shows, with over 20 billion streaming minutes on Disney+.

Season 3 wrapped in April 2024, and producer Sam Moor confirmed to BBC that month there will be a fourth season.

Malik and Hadid, 29, welcomed their daughter in September 2020. The former couple had an on-and-off relationship that lasted until a final split in October 2021.

“From 21 to 27, I was with Gi, and we had a kid, and I didn’t really take much time to get to know myself,” the singer told NYLON in the cover story.

“It’s probably wise to take your time before you fully invest in another human being as a lifelong partner,” said Malik, who added that he is perfectly happy with his quiet farm life, especially when it includes Khai.

“I only have my daughter 50% of the time,” he told NYLON, adding he “would have her 90% if I could.”

The former One Direction singer shared that he and Khai either go to the beach, “see Disney on Ice or we go see the Nickelodeon theme park,” remarking that that’s how he “get[s] out.”
