Zakhar Battles With Heartbreak On New Single “Fly Away”

·1 min read

Following April’s brilliant, country-tinged cut “Lights Out”, North London’s Zakhar is back with a new single in “Fly Away”.

The track is an ode to an ex as the rising star opens up about the affection he still feels for them. Zakhar’s lyricism expertly captures the range of emotions and situations he’s experiencing, from reminiscence and regret to difficult decisions. The vulnerable message of the track is heightened through touching visuals by director Oksi Odedina, who doubles up as his A&R Manager at Sony’s 5K Records, the imprint headed up by JAE5 and 2K Management.

The minimalistic offering sees Zakhar in an all black setting with a piano and images of a figure representing his ex appearing on the screen, aptly capturing the despondent mood of the track.

“Fly Away” is yet another example of the 17-year-old’s awe-inspiring talent, which some have said is way beyond his years. A combination of self-awareness, astute lyricism and touching vocals—Zakhar has what it takes to succeed.
