The Christian singer married his wife only six months after meeting
Zach Williams' love story with his wife, Crystal Williams, is one of a kind.
Although the Christian singer and his wife have been quiet about how they were first introduced, she told The 700 Club that they married only six months after meeting in 2007. The couple have welcomed a son and daughter during their union.
The family is incredibly close and stays by Williams' side while he is on tour.
“The biggest thing I’m grateful for is my relationship with my wife and kids,” the CMA Country Christmas performer wrote on his website. “Now, I won’t play anywhere where they can’t come along.”
So who is Zach Williams’ wife? Here’s everything to know about Crystal Williams and her relationship with the country singer.
She felt an immediate connection with Zach
Crystal opened up to The 700 Club about having a difficult upbringing and how her life changed when she met Zach and his family and witnessed their unconditional love for one another. They married six months after their first encounter, and his parents prayed for them.
“It was the first Christian family I had ever been around. It was different seeing and being around a healthy family situation,” she said in 2017.
In her interview with life coach Holly Mutlu, she added, “Until I met Zach, I lived a life from my childhood and not knowing how to live right and not knowing what the right things to do were. It wasn’t until I met his parents and really got to see the unconditional love they gave him.”
Crystal shared that she and Zach fell in love with each other through a deep emotional connection.
“I think God put us together because we were really able to talk to each other from the beginning, and really be able to express our emotions and feelings,” she said.
She has four kids
Crystal and Zach have a blended family: She welcomed two children in a previous relationship, and then the pair celebrated the arrival of two more kids. The "Chain Breaker" vocalist and his wife share two kids: a son, whose name they haven't shared publicly, and a daughter, Delilah.
Zach told Annie F. Downs on her podcast, That Sounds Fun, that after the COVID-19 pandemic, he got to spend more time with his kids.
"I got to see his first four basketball games of the season. I got to go to my daughter's cheer competition. The tough part was sitting there and not yelling like the rest of the parents,” he said in December 2022.
She was involved in prison ministry
Crystal found purpose in sharing her spiritual testimony through prison ministry and encouraged Zach to participate through his music.
“Me and my wife were involved in church back in Arkansas. She had gone with some of the women in the church to do prison ministry. She said, ‘We should get involved in it.’ ” Zach recalled to GCU Arena. “ ‘Nah.’ That’s not really something I wanted to do. That’s when I was on the fence about pursuing music.’ ”
The singer changed his mind, explaining, “We saw God move in a big way that day." He revealed that he felt called to write Christian music from that experience.
She inspired Zach's song “Love is a Battleground”
After releasing his song “Love is a Battleground” in 2022, Zach shared the story behind it a few months later at an event. He also posted a clip of it on TikTok with the caption, “I wrote 'Love is a Battleground' for my wife and I think God must have known that the only thing that could save us was love."
“Anybody tonight who’s ever been in a relationship, whose ever found that person that you’re willing to fight for, die for, do anything for, sacrifice for–you’ll understand that love’s not fair," he said onstage.
Zach continued, "Love’s not for the faint of heart. It can be a fight, it can be a battle, but it’s worth it if you find that special someone. The way that she’s loved me is just like Jesus."
She supports him on the road and at awards shows
Speaking with Downs in 2022, Zach opened up about feeling supported by Crystal as his career takes him to different corners of the world.
"I feel like God prepared me for it. I feel like He prepared my family," he said.
The "Rescue Story" singer continued, "My wife ... she's the backbone. She makes it all click. ... I love what I get to do and ... I feel blessed."
Crystal has also been by his side at awards shows over the years. In 2019, she attended the Grammy Awards with him and then walked the red carpet at the CMA Awards, where he performed his song “There Was Jesus” with Dolly Parton.
They celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a trip
In his podcast conversation with Downs in 2022, Zach shared that they took an extended vacation across the Atlantic for one of his monumental wedding anniversaries with Crystal.
“A few years ago, me and my wife, for our 10th wedding anniversary, just decided to do a European vacation," he said. "We went all over the place. We went for like 17 days, just went on this big trip."
He noted that London, England, was his favorite place, specifically Borough Market “under the London Bridge" because it had "any kind of food you could ever imagine.”
