Yvette Nicole Brown, Tig Notaro, Tembi Locke, and More Announced as End Well 2023 Symposium Speakers (EXCLUSIVE)

Yvette Nicole Brown, Tig Notaro, and Tembi Locke have been announced as speakers for the 2023 End Well Symposium, Variety has learned exclusively.

Led by End Well founder Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider, Brown joins the event as host as she guides the audience through conversations surrounding end-of-life care. Topics covered include caregiving, grief, policy, decision-making, media and culture change, legacy, innovation, pediatrics, psychedelic assisted therapy and more.

Notaro and Locke join them as featured speakers along with Dr. Stefan Friedrichsdorf, an expert in pediatric pain; labor activist Ai-jen Poo; physician and psychedelics researcher, Dr. Anthony Back; and Emmy-nominated children’s television writer, Darnell Lamont Walker, among others.

“Our theme this year is It’s About Time,” said End Well’s executive director Tracy Wheeler. “It’s about time to make fundamental changes to our broken systems, certainly, but also to look at how time is a resource too often stolen from the disadvantaged, or how time fundamentally shifts when we or someone we love becomes ill. And, of course, time changes again when death is on the horizon.Together, we will dive into how practical solutions and improbable dreams might reshape the landscape of care to not just meet people where they are but to fully embrace who they are.”

The End Well 2023 Symposium will take place in Los Angeles on Nov. 16 at the Skirball Cultural Center.
