Your TV To-Do List: ‘Empire’ Continues Its Reign

With so much to watch on TV, it can be difficult to plan ahead. But we’re here to help! Here are the five shows you won’t want to miss this week.

Gotham: Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on Fox
Villains will rise, which presumably means that some heroes will fall as the Batman prequel series kicks off its sophomore season. At least we know that — based on his future Commissioner status — Jim Gordon is safe… Or is he? (He probably is.)

The Muppets: Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC
It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to welcome Kermit and the gang back to primetime television tonight. This is what we call the all-new Muppet shooooow!

Empire: Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on Fox
Last season’s biggest pop culture sensation heads into Season 2 hoping to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. Based on the off-the-chain premiere, these Lyons are in fine form.

Heroes Reborn: Thursday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. on NBC
Before there was Gotham, The Flash, and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there was Tim Kring’s comic book inspired series. Here’s hoping the reboot is more like the awesome Season 1 than the incoherent Season 4.

CSI, Sunday, Sept. 27 at 9 p.m. on CBS
After 15 seasons and 335 episodes, the CSI mothership ends its storied run with an all-star, two-part series finale. We’ll just have to get our Who fix from CSI: Cyber from here on in.
